Maintain your home: what you can do to keep it stunning

Home maintenance is just as important as an upkeep of your vehicle, professional license certifications, overall health and anything you consider of importance in value. After all the cost of a repairing a damaged home is far more costly, than doing those frequent maintenance to keep your home stunning and homely.



While your home consist of different areas that require maintenance more often than others some areas only require once a year service. By consistently doing smaller tasks more often can help reduce your electricity bill, ensure larger costs aren’t accumulated over time, and keep your home cozy and safe for years to come. This can also be a great way to position your home for long-term advantage in savings and stress.

  1. Add salt to water softener (check monthly, but check and add salt quarterly)

  2. Replace furnace air filter (depends on filter, once a month and or quarterly)

  3. Clean out the washing machine filter (once a week)

  4. Replace your water cartridge filter in your refrigerator (depends on use or every six months)

  5. Spray shower and toilet with cleaner (once a week)

  6. Test smoke smoke alarms (monthly)

  7. Water heater maintenance (annually)

  8. Interior air duct and heat registers maintenance (as needed or monthly)

  9. Exterior fresh air exchange duct (quarterly)

  10. Power wash and maintain exterior surfaces (annually)

  11. Replace inefficient lighting with LED ( as needed)

  12. Clean gutters and prevent ice damming (annually)

  13. Power wash exterior of air conditioner (annually)
